Nickel C-276 has excellent resistance to pitting and stress-corrosion cracking. It shows superior resistance to corrosion in flue gas desulfurization environments containing chlorides. It shows this superior resistance to corrosion even in the welded condition and in both reducing and oxidizing environments. It is the best alloy available for scrubbed flue gasses where high sulfur coal is used.
